Previewing and downloading documents

You can open most documents directly in Accupe without downloading them first, and download a copy whenever you need one.

Previewing a document

  1. Click any file row (in List view) or tile (in Grid view) to open it. Clicking a folder navigates into it instead of previewing.
  2. Accupe generates a secure, time-limited link to the file and opens it in a preview window. This link stays valid for one hour, if you come back to it later, reopen the preview to generate a fresh one.
  3. Images display directly in the preview. PDFs and other file types display using your browser's built-in viewer, so what you see depends on what your browser can render natively.
  4. Click Download in the preview header to open the file in a new tab, or click the X to close the preview.

Each document you preview is added to a Recently Viewed strip above the file list, up to five documents, with duplicates removed, so you can jump back to something you looked at recently without hunting through folders. This strip covers your whole internal document library, not just the folder you're currently browsing, so clicking a Recently Viewed item reopens its preview even if it lives in a different folder. The only time nothing happens is if that file has since been deleted; Company Documents has no rename or move feature, so a "moved" file isn't something you need to worry about here.

Downloading a document

Use the Download action in a file's row, alongside Preview and Delete, to download it directly without opening the preview first.

Note: The Download button in the multi-select action bar at the bottom of the screen (the one that appears as soon as you tick even a single file's checkbox) isn't wired up yet, clicking it won't download anything. To download files, use the Download action on each row individually instead.
