Creating a proposal: Quick Draft, packages and add-ons

Updated 2 October 20265 min read

Creating a proposal

Go to Engagements, then New proposal. You can start from a company number, a client or a lead. Accupe fills in what it can find and shows where each fact came from.

Starting points

  • A company number (UK). Accupe reads the company, its officers and its filing dates from Companies House. The directors become candidate signers. UAE firms add the company by hand, because Companies House search is UK only.
  • A client. Their details are copied in. The proposal is linked to the client.
  • A lead. Their details are copied in, and the lead keeps a link to the proposal so you can see its status from the pipeline.

Confirm every flagged fact

Anything Accupe assumed, for example a turnover band or a signer, is flagged. You confirm each flagged fact one at a time before Send unlocks. There is no confirm-all button, on purpose: a wrong assumption in a letter is a wrong assumption in a contract.

One letter for each client entity

If the proposal covers several entities, each gets its own letter and its own signers. One person can sign for several entities and ticks consent separately for each letter. You can name a different entity as the fee payer, and the letters add a group clause for that.

Services, prices and packages

  • Pick services from your catalogue. The Help me choose panel and the box where you describe the work in your own words suggest candidate services. They only suggest, and you decide.
  • Each line is priced by Accupe's pricing engine from your pricing settings. The price on a line comes only from that engine, never from an AI suggestion.
  • Offer packages (good, better and best) with a Recommended badge, optional add-ons that the client can switch on or off, and quantity steppers within limits you set. Totals update live with the right VAT treatment: including VAT for consumers, excluding VAT with a VAT line for businesses.
  • Your client can also choose how they are billed: monthly, quarterly or annual.

Discounts and what needs approval

Apply a discount by hand or choose a saved one from Settings, Engagements, Discounts. A discount over your own limit, a price override and a required clause removed from a letter need approval before the proposal can be sent. The builder shows the reason without showing any cost or margin to the person asking.

Check the letters

Open Engagement letters from the proposal to see the exact letter each client will receive, composed from your legal profile, the services and the fees. You can reword a clause for this one client, and the preview shows the change.

What the AI does here

The AI may suggest candidate services, suggest values for pricing questions with the quote it relied on, and draft a covering note. It never sets a price and never writes binding letter text. A covering note drafted by AI has to be read and ticked by you before it can be sent, and editing it clears the tick.

Note: Proposals are saved as you work. A draft that has never been sent can be deleted. One that has history is withdrawn or marked lost instead.
