Creating a signature request with the field-placement builder

Accupe's eSignatures tool is not a simple upload-and-email workflow. When you send a document for signing, you position exactly where each field should sit on the page using a visual, drag-and-place canvas, and in a multi-signer request every field belongs to a specific, named signer. Your signers only ever see their own fields, exactly where you put them.

You'll find eSignatures in the left-hand sidebar under the "More" section. The page title reads "eSignatures" and the page itself is headed "Agreements & eSignatures".

Step 1: Prepare Signature Request

Select "Send for Signature" to open the first modal.

  1. Client: choose a client from the dropdown. Selecting a client automatically fills in their name and email as the signer, though you can overwrite the email if the document needs to go to a different address.
  2. Document File: click the upload area and choose the PDF you want signed.
  3. Signer Details: check or edit the primary signer's name and email.
  4. Add another signer (optional): add up to nine additional signers (ten in total, including the primary signer). Each extra signer is a free-text name and email pair and doesn't need to exist in your client list already.
  5. Signing order: once you've added a second signer, a "Signing order" choice appears. "In order" (the default) invites each signer only after the previous one completes; "All at once" invites everyone immediately and they can sign in any order.
  6. Add a CC recipient (optional): CC recipients receive the completed document and Certificate of Completion by email once everyone has signed. They are never asked to sign, and up to five can be added.
  7. Email Message (optional): a custom note included in the invitation email. Left blank, a standard "please review and sign" line is used.
  8. Expires (optional): pick a date if you want the request to auto-expire. After that date the link stops working and reminder emails stop going out.

Select "Next: Prepare Document" to move into the builder.

Note: Always attach a document before continuing. If the document upload fails, Accupe now stops and tells you rather than sending a request whose signing link cannot load anything.

Step 2: Place fields on the canvas

The builder opens full screen with your document rendered on an A4-proportioned canvas. Along the top you'll see the document title (taken from your uploaded filename), a subtitle showing which client you're drafting for, and "Save Draft" and "Send Agreement" buttons.

On the left is a "Fields" panel with five tools:

Field typeWhat the signer does with it
SignatureSigns it (drawn, typed, or uploaded)
InitialsAdds their initials
Date SignedNothing - the date is stamped automatically when they sign
Text BoxTypes free text into it (e.g. a job title or company number)
CheckboxTicks it

To place a field:

  1. Click a tool button. This drops a small chip onto the canvas at a default position.
  2. Drag that chip to the exact place on the document where you want it, for example directly over a signature line.
  3. Repeat for every field you need. Each chip shows an icon, its label, and a small X to remove it.

Assigning fields to signers

Below the tools, the panel lists every signer from Step 1, each with their own colour. The signer selected there owns every field you place next, and each placed chip is edged in its owner's colour so you can see at a glance whose boxes are whose. On a multi-signer request each chip also carries a small "S1"/"S2" selector to reassign it to a different signer.

Each signer is shown only their own fields on the signing page, and their marks are stamped only into their own boxes - signer two can never fill or overprint signer one's fields.

When you're ready, select "Send Agreement" to dispatch it, or "Save Draft" to keep it in your Drafts list without sending. "Back" returns you to Step 1 without losing what you've entered.

Tip: If you'll reuse the same layout again, send the request once, then choose "Save as template" from that request's menu. Templates remember the document, the field layout, and the signer roles, and can be reused from the "Templates" button or sent to many recipients at once with "Bulk send".
