Connecting Zoho Books
Where to connect
Go to Settings, then Integrations (admin access required). You'll find a card headed "Zoho Books" with the description: "Pull Zoho Books contacts and invoices into Accupe, and push completed-job invoices into Zoho as drafts. Tokens refresh automatically. Works across all Zoho data centers (.com, .eu, .in, .sa, .com.au)." This card is available to both UK and UAE firms and behaves the same way as Accupe's Xero integration if you're already familiar with that one.
Connecting your account
- Click "Connect Zoho".
- Sign in to Zoho and approve access on Zoho's own consent screen.
- You're redirected back to Accupe. On success, the card shows a green "Connected to {your organisation name}" badge.
Zoho operates from several regional data centres. Accupe automatically detects and uses whichever one your Zoho organisation is registered on (.com, .eu, .in, .sa, or .com.au), so there's nothing extra for you to configure.
Syncing data
The Zoho Books card shows the same information as Xero's: last sync date (or "never"), contacts imported, invoices pushed, and, if a run failed, an inline "Last sync error" banner. As with Xero, there's currently no automatic overnight sync, so use the buttons below whenever you want to sync. The same four sync actions are available:
A manual sync finishes with a toast in the same format as Xero's: "Synced: X contacts in, Y pushed, Z pulled".
How contact matching and invoice pushing work
Zoho Books uses the same logic as Xero. Contacts are matched by exact email, then exact business name, then a looser partial name match, with that last kind flagged in your compliance audit log for manual review. Unmatched contacts become new clients with source Zoho. Pushing only sends jobs with status exactly Complete and a fee greater than zero, and only for clients already linked through a prior contact pull, unlinked clients' jobs are skipped rather than created in Zoho. Invoices push as drafts, never auto-approved or auto-sent.
Disconnecting
Click "Disconnect" on the Zoho Books card. The confirmation is titled "Disconnect from Zoho Books?" with the same wording as Xero's: "You can reconnect anytime. Any data already synced into Accupe stays put - this just severs the live link." Confirming shows a "Zoho Books disconnected" toast, already-synced clients, invoices, and history remain in Accupe.
Note: Both Xero and Zoho Books connections refresh their access tokens automatically in the background, so you shouldn't need to re-authenticate once connected. A disconnect only happens if you click Disconnect yourself or if Zoho or Xero revokes access on their end. Data itself only moves when you click one of the sync buttons, plan to run these on whatever schedule your firm needs.
