Managing your password

Accupe doesn't have a dedicated "change password" screen inside your dashboard settings: there's no page under Settings where you can type a new password while signed in. Instead, you set a new password through a reset link sent to your email, triggered from the sign-in page.

Reset your password

  1. Go to the Accupe sign-in page (sign out first if you're already signed in).
  2. Enter the email address you sign in with, type any password into the Password field, and select "Sign in". The password-reset option isn't a permanent fixture on the page, it only appears after a sign-in attempt fails, so this first attempt is what reveals it. Accupe shows the same generic message either way ("Those credentials didn't match. Please check your email, ID code, or password."), so don't worry if you're not sure whether it was the email or the password that didn't match.
  3. In the red error message that appears, select "Forgot your password? Reset by email". This sends the reset link to whichever address is currently typed into the Email field, so double-check it's correct before selecting it.
  4. Once you see "Reset link sent! Please check your email.", check your inbox and follow the link to choose a new password.
  5. Sign back in to Accupe using your new password.

If you have 2FA turned on

Resetting your password doesn't touch your two-factor authentication enrolment. After entering your new password, you'll still be asked for a code from your authenticator app (or a recovery code) as normal.

If this is for a client, not your own login

If you're firm staff and need to set or reset a client's password for their client portal, that's a different, separate feature: open that client's record under Contacts and use the "Send portal access" section there, not the flow described here. This article is only about the password you use to sign in to Accupe as a firm user.

Note: If the reset email doesn't arrive, check your spam or junk folder first. If you still can't get in, contact support@accupe.com with the email address on your account so the team can help.
Tip: Use a unique, strong password for Accupe, ideally generated and stored in a password manager, and pair it with two-factor authentication for a second layer of protection. See "Setting up two-factor authentication (2FA)" for how to turn that on.
