Inviting a team member

Only Admins, Managers, and the firm owner can send invites, Staff don't see the option. There are two places to do it, and they behave slightly differently.

The two invite flows

Team DirectorySettings > Team & Roles
Who can open itAdmin, Manager, OwnerAdmin, Owner only
EmailRequiredOptional, leave it blank to generate a shareable link instead
Access levels offeredStaff (Standard), Manager (Elevated), Admin (Full Control)Manager, Staff, and Admin (Admin option only shown to the owner)
ID code formatSTF- followed by six charactersINV- followed by two four-character blocks
What happens after sendingAn invite email is attempted and the member appears on Team Directory with an "Invite Sent" badgeAn "Invite Created!" panel appears with a copyable signup link and the raw code

Inviting from Team Directory

  1. Go to Team Directory in the sidebar.
  2. Click Invite Staff (or Invite Member, both buttons on the page open the same window).
  3. In the Invite Staff Member window, enter their Full Name and Work Email.
  4. Choose an Access Level: Staff (Standard), Manager (Elevated), or Admin (Full Control).
  5. Click Send Invite.

The new person appears on Team Directory with an "Invite Sent" badge and a unique ID code until they accept.

Inviting from Settings > Team & Roles

This screen is only reachable by Admins and the owner.

  1. Go to Settings > Team & Roles.
  2. Click Invite Member, this opens the "Invite Team Member" window.
  3. Enter an email if you have one, or leave it blank and share the link yourself instead.
  4. Choose a role: Manager or Staff (Admin only appears here if you're the owner).
  5. Click Generate Invite, then use Copy Link on the "Invite Created!" confirmation panel to grab the signup link and code.

The access ceiling

You can't invite someone into a tier higher than your own. If a Manager tries to send an Admin invite, Accupe rejects it with "You cannot invite someone at a higher access level than your own." The firm owner role can never be granted through an invite, by anyone, at any tier.

After you send an invite

Invites expire after 7 days. Email delivery is best effort, if it doesn't land in the recipient's inbox, copy the link or code directly and send it to them another way. Once they accept, they can sign in afterwards using either their email or their ID code, both are entered alongside a password on the login screen, which is labelled "Email or ID Code".

If you see "Too many requests. Please try again later." while inviting, your firm has hit the hourly invite limit, wait a few minutes and try again.

Tip: If someone says they never received their invite email, open Team Directory, find their row (it shows an "Invite Sent" badge), and use Resend Invite from the "..." menu, or generate a fresh shareable link from Settings > Team & Roles and send it yourself.
