Logging time in the weekly grid and managing timesheet status
Beyond the Timer Widget, Accupe gives you three more ways to get time onto your timesheet, plus a review workflow so entries move from logged, to submitted, to approved, to billed.
Where to find it
Go to Practice > Timesheets (route: /dashboard/jobs/timesheets, page heading "Timesheets & Analytics"). Use the List / Weekly toggle near the top to switch between the two views.
The Weekly Grid
Switch to Weekly view to see a spreadsheet-style grid: each row is a client/job/task combination, the first column ("Client & Task") stays pinned on the left and shows the client name plus the job title and task, then seven day columns run Monday through Sunday (each headed with its date), and a "Total" column sits on the right.
- Click into any day's cell on the relevant row.
- Type the hours - either as a decimal (e.g. 1.5) or as hours and minutes (e.g. 1:30).
- Press Enter or click elsewhere to save. Entering 0 removes the entry for that day.
Accupe finds the matching entry for that exact client, task, and date and updates it, or creates a new one and saves it with status Logged. The "Daily Totals" footer row sums each day's column, and the grand total for the week sits in the bottom-right corner.
Use the arrow buttons to move between weeks, or click Today to jump back to the current week. The date range is shown as, for example, "6 Jul - 12 Jul 2026". If a week has nothing logged, you'll see "No entries for this week."
Note: The search box and the status filter pills described below only filter the List view. The Weekly Grid always shows every entry for the week you're looking at (within whichever Personal/Company scope is active) - typing a search term or clicking a status pill while in Weekly view has no effect on the grid itself.
Logging time manually
If you'd rather type in a single entry rather than use the grid or the timer, click Log Time (Plus icon, top-right of the table toolbar) and fill in:
- Date (defaults to today)
- Duration - free text, e.g. "1h 45m"
- Client (including Internal Admin)
- Task Description
This also saves with status Logged.
AI Assist (Beta)
The AI Assist panel (Sparkles icon, "Beta" badge) can suggest time entries based on what you actually did in Accupe that day. Click Auto-Generate (it shows "Analyzing…" while it works) and Accupe reviews your activity log for the day, groups it by the type of work, and creates draft entries such as "AML/KYC Compliance checks", "Document signature processing", or "Client onboarding & updates", each noting how many actions it was based on. These appear as purple "AI Draft" entries with a Sparkles icon next to the task text.
Review each AI draft and either:
- Click the tick icon to approve it (it becomes a normal Logged entry), or
- Click the square icon to discard it (it's deleted).
AI-suggested entries are never counted as logged time until you approve them.
Timesheet status lifecycle
Every time entry moves through a review lifecycle:
What you can do with an entry depends on its status and your role:
Personal vs Company view, and status filters
Admins and managers see a Personal / Company toggle in the table toolbar - present in both the List and Weekly views: Personal scopes the whole page to your own entries, Company shows the whole firm's. Staff members without admin or manager access are always scoped to their own entries and don't see this toggle.
A separate row of status filter pills - All, Logged, Submitted, Approved, Billed - each show a live count, letting you jump straight to entries awaiting your attention. As noted above, these pills (and the search box) act on the List view only.
Tip: In the Weekly Grid, you can type hours as a decimal (1.5) or as hours and minutes (1:30) - both save the same way, so use whichever is quicker for you.
