Secure Deposit Box: Unauthenticated File Uploads
Alongside the full client portal, every firm also has a simple, login-free way for anyone with a valid Client Code to drop off files, useful for one-off document collection without setting someone up with full portal access.
Where it lives
The Secure Deposit Box is at your portal address with /documentupload on the end: accupe.com/p/ followed by your slug, then /documentupload. It's a separate page from your full client login, and it does not require signing in at all.
How it works
- The visitor enters their Client Reference (their Client Code, for example CLI-123) under "Client Identification."
- Accupe checks the code against your firm's clients. If it doesn't match, they see "Invalid client reference. Please try again."; it won't tell them whether the code or the portal address was wrong, a wrong slug and a wrong code both fail the same way.
- Once verified, the page switches to "Secure File Deposit," showing "Uploading as [business name]" with an upload box labelled "Click to upload or drag and drop." Clicking it opens the device's file picker, that's the reliable way to add files.
- They can select multiple files. Each file uploads on its own, up to 25MB per file, so if one file fails, the others already uploaded are not lost; only the failed ones need retrying.
- On completion, they see "Upload Successful!" with an "Upload more files" link to send another batch.
The footer of this page notes "End-to-end encrypted & GDPR compliant" and "Powered by Accupe," and includes a link back to "Client Login" for clients who want the full portal experience instead.
What it is not
The Secure Deposit Box is upload-only. There is currently no way for a visitor to browse or download files from this page; it exists purely to collect documents from clients, or prospective clients, without the overhead of provisioning full portal access.
Comparing the two entry points
Note: Because the Secure Deposit Box only asks for a Client Code and no PIN, treat it as a lower-security convenience for document intake, not a substitute for the full portal when a client needs to view sensitive documents, messages, or task status.
