What Clients See in Their Portal

Once a client signs in with their Client Code and PIN, they land on a Workspace Home built around what needs their attention, plus a small set of sections you control.

The portal navigation

Clients see up to five items in their sidebar, in this order:

ItemAlways visible?
Workspace HomeAlways
DocumentsOnly if you have not disabled the Documents tab for this client
Task StatusAlways
MessagesOnly if you have not disabled messaging for this client
eSign HistoryOnly if you have not disabled eSign history for this client

See "Per-Client Portal Feature Toggles" for how to turn Documents, Messages, and eSign History on or off per client.

Workspace Home

This is the client's landing page, titled "Client Workspace" with a "Home" breadcrumb. It shows:

  • Four KPI tiles: Documents, Pending signatures, Active tasks, and Unread messages, each linking through to the relevant section.
  • A single next-action callout that highlights whichever is most urgent for that client, checked in this order: a pending e-signature first, then a failed identity check, then an unread message, then an identity check that has not been started (or is still pending, or has expired), and only after all of those, an open task.
  • An Identity verification card showing their KYC status: Completed, Pending, or Failed, with "Not started" shown whenever no check has been started yet.
  • A Recent activity feed that merges their files, signatures, and tasks by date, most recent first.

Documents

Shows the files your firm has shared with the client, for them to view and download. If you've hidden the Documents tab for a client, this entire section disappears from their sidebar. Document visibility is also managed per file inside your own Documents tab, so a hidden portal tab and per-file sharing settings work together.

Task Status

Shows the client the status of tasks tied to their jobs. This section is always visible to clients; it is not one of the sections you can hide with a toggle.

Messages

Lets the client send and receive secure messages with your firm. Hidden entirely if you've disabled messaging for that client.

eSign History

Shows the client their past signature requests. Hidden entirely if you've disabled eSign history for that client.

Tip: Task Status is always visible and has no hide toggle at all, and there is no per-task visibility setting to fall back on either, every task tied to a client's jobs shows in their portal automatically. If you need to keep a specific piece of work from a client's view, don't assign it to one of their jobs rather than relying on any portal setting.
